O ensino de literatura indígena a partir da poesia de Márcia Kambeba analisada pela via dos Estudos Culturais

Abstract

This research was sustained, mainly, with the objective of understanding Márcia Kambeba's indigenous poetry through Cultural Studies, seeking to value the teaching of Brazilian indigenous literature in the school environment. The methodology used to carry out the work was based on a theoretical study and used as a tool a bibliographic review, plus the analysis of some poems by the Amazonian indigenous author Márcia Wayna Kambeba, extracted from her book entitled “Ay kakyri tama (I live in city) ”, published in 2013. We chose to speak first about Cultural Studies, a fundamental basis for this research, and about issues of identity; later, we approached the theme of indigenous literature and its teaching in schools, dealing a little with poetry and appreciation of indigenous peoples; and, in a third moment, we analyzed some poems from the book. The specific objectives of the research were: to collaborate to give visibility to indigenous cultures in the school environment; valuing the teaching of indigenous literature in school institutions; interpret some poems by the indigenous poet Márcia Kambeba through concepts of identity; and record the struggles of Brazilian indigenous communities and their current demands. Such approaches contemplate the field of Cultural Studies, emphasizing the indigenous culture and identity present in the analyzed texts. It is worth noting that the indigenous people have gone through a long historical period of subjugation and inferiority, since the colonial period. For many years the Indians were slaughtered by wars and epidemics, enslaved and silenced. Thus, according to the result of this work, we understand that indigenous peoples have always fought for their life, their customs and their territory, since colonial times. These peoples are warriors and this can be seen in the poems, which reflect a search for the reaffirmation and recognition of their indigenous culture and identity, showing the struggle of ancestors and new generations to have their customs respected and recognized. Approaching indigenous literature in the school environment from the perspective of Cultural Studies means presenting this whole ethnicracial context in the voice of the colonized people, and this can significantly contribute to the formation of young people and children more aware of their social role, humanized and prepared for the exercise of citizenship, seeking to train young people and children outside the colonists' visions and (pre) concepts embedded in the country's history to the present day.
