dc.description.abstractThe aim of this work is to estimate and analyze the aggregate agricultural production function of the state of Paraná, Brazil; it specifically aims to identify the main determinants of pro duction and at what stage of production the state is. Therefore an economic analysis was performed based on data from the Brazilian 2006 Agricultural Census related to the 339 municipalities in Paraná through the use of the Cobb-Douglas production function. The results indicated that the fac tors of production have been employed in an economically rational way (stage II), have constant returns to scale, and the technology (tractor), financing and area factors, in that order, proved to be determinant in the agricultural production of that state.pt_BR

dc.description.resumoO objetivo deste trabalho é estimar e analisar a função de produção agropecuária agrega da do Paraná; especificamente, pretende identificar os principais fatores determinantes da produção e em que estágio de produção o estado se encontra. Para tanto foi efetuada uma análise econômi ca, com base nos dados do Censo Agropecuário de 2006, dos 339 municípios paranaenses com o uso da função de produção do tipo Cobb-Douglas. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que os fatores de produção estão sendo realizados em situação economicamente racional (estágio II), possuem retornos constantes à escala, e os fatores tecnologia (trator), financiamento e área, nessa ordem, mostraram-se determinantes na produção agrícola do estado.pt_BR
