Modalidades e épocas de cultivo da alface em Gurupi - TO

Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) and the main leafy vegetable grown in Brazil, with productivity and limited quality, according to the growing seasons, environments and the type of farming adopted. The objective of this work check at different times, what is the best environment for growing lettuce cultivars in the Center-South of the Tocantins state. Three experiments were installed (spring, summer and winter). In every age, were evaluated three lettuce cultivars (Vera, Taina and Rafaela) and three farming environments (Tunnel down on beds protected by mulching, flower beds protected only with mulching beds and no protection). The variables evaluated were: plant weight (g); Stem Length (cm); head diameter (in cm); number of leaves per head; Volume of heads (in cm 3); Productivity (Mg ha-1). Winter is the most appropriate cultivation period for growing lettuce. The low tunnel with mulching is the most recommended cultivation system for growing lettuce in comparison to others. Cultivar Vera was higher than the other for the rated cultivation environments.
