Estudo técnico do sistema de abastecimento de água do município de Pau D’Arco - TO

Abstract

Basic sanitation directly impacts quality of life, health and the development of society. Water is an essential resource for the survival of the population and in regions where this service is scarce, the population is looking for other alternatives that can lead to an increase in waterborne diseases. The present study aims to diagnose the current situation of the water supply service in the municipality of Pau D'arco - TO, both in urban and rural areas, and, from there, propose alternatives that can solve the problems identified in relation to water supply in the municipality. The present study made projections for the 20-year horizon. In addition to bibliographic research, the survey of primary data was used for the development of this study, through visits to the municipality and the application of an online questionnaire to the population. The results found show that the current water production in the municipality is not sufficient to meet the current and future population, based on the 20-year horizon. In addition, the water reserve capacity in the municipality does not support current or future production, requiring expansion. Another problem identified is the great loss of water in the distribution network, which reaches 62.7%, showing recurrence of leaks. From the identification of the main problems, technical alternatives were proposed to solve them.
