Interação no futebol de campo: jogadores Apinajé e jogadores da cidade de Tocantinópolis – TO

Abstract

This Course Completion Work aims to describe how - from the practice of football - Apinajé and non-indigenous people relate to each other in the city of Tocantinópolis. The research

question that guides this TCC is: how are social relations, between Apinajé and non- indigenous people, established in football games in the city of Tocantinópolis - TO? For the

development of this research, the qualitative methodology of case study and the techniques of Participant Observation and Interview were used. The interviews were carried out with two indigenous players, under the supervision of the advisor, on the university campus of UFT in Tocantinópolis - TO. While the participant observations were carried out following the “Copa Indígena” championship, in the visits of the games in the villages and in the city. Based on the observations and analysis of the interviews, we understand that the relationships between Apinajé indigenous people and non-indigenous people established in football matches are permeated by superficial bonds of friendship in the football context. In addition, it was identified that the analytical concept of Interethnic Friction (OLIVEIRA, 1967), which appears in the hypothesis in the research, does not apply in the present case study, while Ethno-sport (FASSHEBER, 2006) has in force in the Apinajé's football sports practice, because through it Apinajé players apply a re-signification of culture, moral, ethical and identity values.
