Memórias de mulheres negras em Insubmissas Lágrimas de Mulheres, de Conceição Evaristo

Abstract

This research about the work Insubmissas lágrimas de mulheres (2011), by Conceição Evaristo, makes a discussion and problematization about the memories of black women as a narrative motto that raises several themes in the act of remembering. It is through the recounting of memories that we get to know the women's black life stories that make up the narratives of Insubmissas lágrimas de mulheres. The contribution of the writer to Literatura Brasileira Contemporânea is undeniable, mainly because her writing is part of the branch of black female literature. In this sense, due to the influence of the black theme in her literary project, as well as because of the point of view assumed by the author in the act of writing and the way she approaches other literary elements in her productions, currently Conceição Evaristo is one of the main names of Afro-Brazilian literature. Thus, in this study, bibliographic aspects of the author are discussed as essential for the study of her works, including highlighting the path traced by women in Brazil and this author's own path to conquer writing, as well as investigating how the critical reception of her works takes place. Regarding literary writing by black female authors, it occurs as an act of resistance. In other words, it is not a male narrative, but it is a narrative constructed in opposition to the hegemonic discourse. Therefore, it is violence, abandonment, motherhood and other complex themes being constructed from a feminine and subordinate point of view. To this end, this analysis starts from conceptual studies that help in understanding these phenomena, based on the theoretical contributions of Djamila Ribeiro (2017), Angela Davis (2016), Regina Dalcastagnè (2012), Ecléa Bosi (2003, 2015), Michael Pollak (1989; 1992), Maurice Halbwachs (1968) and others.
