O uso de materias manipuláveis no ensino de geometria espacial na educação de jovens e adultos.

Abstract

The present work aims to present the use of Manipulable materials in the teaching of spatial geometry, especially the polyhedra of Plato, focusing on the construction of these solids in a playful way, a fun and enjoyable experience, where the target audience was composed of students from Youth and Adult Education at the Marechal Rondon State School. Two types of research were used, the qualitative approach of the bibliographical type: in which a book survey, a course conclusion work (TCC), articles and a web site were carried out; And the participatory research: in which data collection was used through a workshop, with jujubes and toothpicks and an expository class using acrylic didactic material (MD). The objective of this work is to discuss possibilities in teaching through the use of concrete materials in the learning of geometry. We have taken a historical approach from some mathematicians who have contributed to the study of polyhedra, as well as a brief history of youth and adult education in Brazil. The theoretical assumption of this work is based on Howard Eves, Dario Fiorentini and Raymond Flood. As a result, we understand the importance of using concrete materials in teaching young people and adults. The construction of this work brought fruitful reflections to my personal growth as a researcher of meaningful educational practice.
