Bem-estar animal em sistemas de produção de ovinos em regime de manejo intensivo

Abstract

It is known that sheep farming has become one of the best investments, with its easy breeding and its ability to produce, but the key theme of this research is the welfare of these farm animals. Due to the ease of research and access to information about the production methods of species created to supply food to humans, the concern with the way in which these animals are treated has become increasingly relevant for these products to be on the markets and have acceptance by consumers. In addition to the demands of consumers, it is known that animals with good health, adequate food and that do not live under stress have a better production, and in addition to having a better productivity, the quality provided by them is much higher. Although sheep were one of the first domesticated species, Brazil still does not have specific legislation aimed at improving the welfare of these animals. This research aims to demonstrate that the quality of life and well-being of these animals is of paramount importance given that they have major impacts on production, whether negatively or positively.
