| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | O estágio curricular supervisionado foi realizado no Hospital Veterinário Universitário da Universidade Federal do Piauí (HVU-UFPI) nas áreas de Clínica Médica e Clinica Cirúrgica de Pequenos Animais, com início dia 14 de março de 2017 e término em 26 de maio de 2017, totalizando 400 horas, sob supervisão da Medica Veterinária Residente Thamara Barrozo. Os estagiários seguiam cronogramas pré-estabelecidos pela coordenação do HVU-UFPI e percorriam os setores de atendimento realizando, quando permitido, exames clínicos, coleta de material biológico para exames complementares, atendimentos de emergência, cirurgias e internações sob monitoramento de médicos veterinários do Hospital, o que possibilitava uma vivência e melhor aprendizado ao estagiário. O estágio proporcionou um contato direto com pacientes e envolvimento com práticas da rotina hospitalar, proporcionando maior segurança e grande aprendizado na área de clínica e cirurgia de pequenos animais. O relatório descreve as atividades desenvolvidas pelo estagiário e relata um caso de leptospirose canina, uma zoonose de importância em saúde pública, acompanhada durante o estágio. |
| Abstract: | The supervised curricular traineeship was carried out at the Hospital Veterinário Universitário da Universidade Federal do Piauí (HVU-UFPI) in the areas of Small Animals Medicine and Surgery, from March 14, 2017 to May 26, 2017, totaling 400 hours, under the supervision of the Veterinary Resident Thamara Barrozo. The trainees followed pre-established schedules by the coordination of the HVU-UFPI that involved several sectors performing, when permitted, anamnesis, clinical and physical examination, collection of biological material for complementary exams, emergency care, surgeries and hospitalizations under supervision of Veterinarians of the Hospital, which enabled the trainee to experience and learn better. The traineeship provided a direct contact with patients and involvement with routine hospital practices, providing greater safety and great learning in clinic and surgery of small animals. The report describes the activities developed by the trainee and reports a case of canine leptospirosis, a zoonosis of public health importance, accompanied during the stage. |
