Monitoração Anestésica: Oximetria de Pulso e Capnometria.

Abstract

The Obligatory Curricular Internship Supervised in Veterinary Medicine was held at the Veterinary Hospital "Governador Laudo Natel", at the State University of São Paulo, in Jaboticabal. In the area of Veterinary Anesthesiology, the same occurred in the period from March 11, 2019 to May 24, 2019, totaling 400 hours, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Newton Nunes, responsible for the field of Veterinary Anesthesiology of Small Animals. In the follow up of the activities developed in the routine of the anesthesiology sector, the trainee can have contact with several professionals, from the technical area to residents and post-graduates, providing the professional enrichment. In the context of anesthesiology, the procedures followed involved the preparation of the patient and administration of the preanesthetic medication until the total recovery of the animal. This work describes, besides the place of the stage and the casuistry of procedures followed, the report and the discussion of a surgical procedure with an example of basic but complete anesthetic monitoring. From the interest aroused on the subject, a literature review on monitoring was developed with emphasis on pulse oximetry and capnometry.
