A fisiologia humana no Plano Nacional do Livro e do material Didático (PNLD) 2021: constatações e reflexões sobre a disciplina escolar biologia pós Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC)

Abstract

This research aimed to identify teaching content related to Human Physiology in Natural Sciences textbooks (LDs) approved by the National Book and Teaching Material Program (PNLD) of 2021; analyze and describe how these teaching contents are covered in the school subject Biology based on the PNLD 2021 textbooks; and infer about the conceptual emptying suffered by the school subject Biology with regard to Human Physiology in textbooks of PNLD 2021. To this end, we sought to answer the following research question: how are teaching contents on Human Physiology organized in textbooks of PNLD 2021?. This research was characterized as qualitative, of the document analysis type and used registration units and context units to categorize the data analyzed in the textbooks. The results showed a tendency towards a shallow and descriptive approach to Human Physiology, mainly the contents related to the Integumentary System, Sensory System and Muscular System systems, which were excluded from the LDs. The omission of content in the areas of Natural Sciences and Human Sciences in these materials has significant implications for the education of individuals, contributing to a more minimized view of the human body.
