A festa de Nossa Senhora do Rosário na cidade de Monte Alegre-GO como parte do patrimônio cultural local

Abstract

This study aims to describe the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary in the municipality of Monte Alegre de Goiás and thus highlight its importance as part of the local culture. This party was regulated and registered in 2008, through a meeting held in the mother church with the population and in order to maintain and strengthen the format of the celebration of the municipality, they reached the consensus to elaborate a regulation, which was registered in the municipal registry office. The methodology used in this work is qualitative, used as procedures for bibliographic research, documentary research and field research. In this last stage, semi- structured interviews were conducted with residents of the municipality, in November and December 2020 and May 2021, in order to understand about the importance of the celebration and its relationship with their lives, in this way it was possible to observe that although with many difficulties to hold the celebrations the people who participate, in addition to practicing their devotion to Our Lady of the Rosary considered the patron saint of slaves, also through all the moments that involves the event strengthens their feeling of social unity. In the field of tourism, the festival can be seen as potential to strengthen the flow of visitors to the site, in order to contribute to the economy.
