Formação de praças da polícia militar e a reprodução da violência: tecendo relações

Abstract

This research is of an exploratory qualitative nature, as it used documentation and content analysis based on Bardin's theory in confluence with the Marxist theory of historical-dialectical materialism, which understands that human history is formed from of the transformations of everyday reality. Therefore, the objective was to analyze the narratives about the experiences lived in the Soldiers' Training Course, with a focus on people who graduated as members of the Military Police Soldiers' Team in several states in Brazil, through videos shared on YouTube. Thus, explaining more broadly what the course is about and making a critical analysis of the main factors that are repeated in the speech of each person analyzed in the videos. More broadly, violence was analyzed, which stood out as the most eloquent theme in order to answer the research problem: “Is violence something intrinsic to the military police or is it something that is constructed through insertion in the military environment?” From this and the videos analyzed, it was possible to observe that the behavior of police officers regarding violence should not be generalized, as many of the reports say that incidents are resolved through dialogue. In contrast, through the reports, some violent aspects during training are normalized.
