| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | O feijão-caupi é uma leguminosa d e importância socioeconômica, principalmente nas regiões Norte e Nordeste do Brasil. Diante disso, torna-se essencial estudar estratégias que contribuam para aumentar a produtividade, o que pode ser realizado por meio da prospecção de melhores genótipos para o sistema de produtivo. Portanto, objetivou-se, com este trabalho, fazer uma revisão de literatura sobre o feijão-caupi, dando ênfase a sua importância e principais características. Foi feito um levantamento detalhado sobre o feijão-caupi, abordando a origem e importância, o melhoramento genético das plantas, o cultivo na várzea tropical, as principais doenças de importância para a cultura e o índice de seleção e índice de seleção MGIDI. |
| Abstract: | Cowpea is a legume of socioeconomic importance, especially in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil. Therefore, it is essential to study strategies that contribute to increasing productivity, which can be achieved by prospecting for better genotypes for the production system. Therefore, the objective of this work was to review the literature on cowpea, emphasizing its importance and main characteristics. A detailed survey of cowpea was carried out, addressing its origin and importance, genetic improvement of plants, cultivation in tropical floodplains, the main diseases of importance to the crop, and the selection index and MGIDI selection index. |
