The object of this study was to determine the profile of infected women treated at a specialized service in the state of Tocantins, regarding socioeconomic and treatment characteristics, as well as to assess the nutritional status (EN) at admission and last visit. Data were obtained from 351 medical records of women living with HIV / AIDS in the SAE in the state of Tocantins. It was found that 34.82% had completed high school, 59.39% had one to three children and 72.50% were employed. Regarding health and treatment issues, 88.18% and 70.00% did not have co-infections and NCDs, respectively; 90.00% were using antiretroviral therapy, and 47.27% started treatment within one month after diagnosis. As for EN, 11.21% and 22.12% were diagnosed with obesity, in the first and last record, respectively. Significant associations were noted with EN on admission in the variables of co- infections (p = 0.044), NCDs (p <0.001), base medication (p = 0.006) and LT-CD4 + cells (p <0.001). CNCD (p <0.001), initial viral load (p = 0.048) and the gap (p = 0.043). The results demonstrate that there was an association between NS and health and treatment variables. It was concluded from the data collected and analyzed, the early diagnosis, evaluation and monitoring directly interfere in NS in women living with HIV, constituting decisive factors in the prevention of other comorbidities associated with obesity, in this context. It was also noticed that adequate and healthy eating accompanied by healthy lifestyle habits can improve adherence and effectiveness of antiretroviral therapy, in addition to contributing to the improvement of metabolic changes.pt_BR
