Representações sociais da sociedade civil quanto à participação no Conselho Universitário da Universidade Federal do Tocantins

Abstract

The present research aims to identify the social representations present in the discourses of representatives of civil society in the tangent to the participation of such category in the University Council of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT). The information collection was carried out in the seven headquarter rs cities of UFT, through semi-structured interviews with 10 representatives of civil society entities. The analysis of the data occurred through the Collective Subject Discourse method, constructed through the key expressions and their corresponding central ideas and possible anchorages. From the analysis emerged representations that the participation in councils is an opportunity to propose demands that help the society, as well as that many participants do not dedicate themselves, are not assiduous to the meetings. In addition, there is representation that showed the little preparation of some to participate and that there is advice that does not always work in practice. With regard to the participation in the University Council of UFT, it was identified representations about the importance of the UFT and of being well prepared to participate in the meetings of the University Council, opportunity to take the society's guidelines to the University, to know the UFT, and help in decision making.
