Gestão de eventos culturais como perspectiva de desenvolvimento do turismo local em Aragua-ína/TO.

Abstract

This article presents a discussion about cultural events, management process and possibilities of local tourism development. It aims to investigate how the management of the cultural events of Araguaína-TO for the purpose of fomenting local tourism occurs. As a methodology, the research was used, bibliographical, descriptive and exploratory, followed by a qualitative approach, having as instrument of data collection, the semi-structured interview. As for the results, 9 cultural events were identified, mostly involving religious elements, and it was concluded that in the view of public managers, responsible for the planning and organization of local events, the city of Araguaína has favorable spaces for events that have been promoted to date, and which still has great potential to develop the event tourism segment, while recognizing that there are local factors that need to be improved.
