Serviço social na educação: uma contribuição necessária

Abstract

The present work has as its theme "Social Service in Education: a necessary contribution" whose object of study was to analyze the need for the presence of the social worker in municipal elementary schools, understanding as a qualified professional proposer and mediator to the most diverse manifestations. of the social issue that permeate the school routine, which interfere directly and directly in the child's teaching-learning process. The research is the result of data analysis in the extension project carried out by the Federal University of Tocantins - UFT in partnership with the Municipal Department of Education in the years 2016/2017, which made it possible to observe in the municipal schools of early childhood education and elementary education of the municipality Miracema do Tocantins-TO. The research results reiterate the need and importance of the insertion of the social worker in the school context, in response to the demands imposed by the capitalist society, which articulates directly with the struggle that the representative bodies of the CFESS/CRESS category have been fighting tirelessly to conquer this socio occupational space, as well as in the management, elaboration and execution of social policies, addressed here education, with a view to guaranteeing access to quality education. From the analyzed data, it was possible to apprehend the need for the performance of the social service professional in schools in the municipality of Miracema do Tocantins. Thus, the present study identified several obstacles that permeate the Education Policy and contribute to making it happen in a precarious way and without the professional support of the social protection network in the municipality of Miracema do Tocantins.
